Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: After opening for the day’s trade flat, the markets quickly bounced to green. The Nifty index, at the opening, is trading with a rise of around 50 points. The index is advancing forward to the 24,900 mark. The Sensex also opened flat, only to rise by over 170 points in the early hours of the day’s trade.
Kaynes tech shares declined by 4%. Northern Arc shares dipped by about 8% after a large trade deal. Sai Life and Eternal also had their block deal in the opening hours.
The GIFT Nifty indicated a muted start to the Indian markets as the indices look to come out of the recent slump.
The Nifty remains confined in a range, but it is the broader markets that have been a pain point for the market in the last few days. The Nifty Midcap index fell 950 points on Thursday, taking its three-day drop to well over 1,600 points. The Smallcap index has fared no better, with a drop of over 500 points during the same time period.
Geopolitical tensions remain where they are with no signs of improvement. US President Donald Trump has given a two-week deadline of sorts as he decides whether or not to launch an attack on Iran.
Nestlé India will also be in focus ahead of its June 26 board meeting to consider a bonus issue of shares. The FTSE rejig also takes place today, with analysts estimating net inflows of up to $150 million.
